Reclaiming purpose in your daily life
“Happiness, I have come to understand, comes when what I choose to be about in my life is actually worth spending my life doing. My life. This one life, with all its passions and with all its gifts.”

I am an occupational therapist and researcher working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I received my PhD in educational psychology at the University of Minnesota. I find purpose in daily life by learning new things, helping others develop and grow, playing with watercolors and making cards, and investing in relationships with friends and family that go deep.

I have been practicing Occupational Therapy at an outpatient clinic in Minneapolis since receiving my degree at the University of North Dakota. Purpose for me is found within the simple moments of my day especially when pausing to match the pace of my two year old as my older son runs full speed ahead. It is engaging in valued projects at work, keeping our routines at home simple, spending time with family, getting outside and ending our day with a good book.

I work as the Lead Occupational Therapist in the Cancer program of a Brain Injury Clinic and as a Scientific Researcher. I find my purpose by spending time, if at all possible at the lake, with my husband and 2 children, extended family and friends. I believe there is no reason that daily purpose can’t be a little funny.
